AI Chat

Chat with your transcripts using any AI provider.

Overview

Once you have a transcript, click "Ask AI" to start a chat. You can ask questions, request summaries, extract key points, translate, or anything else. AI chat uses your own API key — your data goes directly to your chosen provider.

Multiple Chat Sessions

Each transcript can have multiple independent chat sessions. Create a new session from the detail view. Resume your most recent session at any time.

Prompts

Transcribe comes with default prompts like "Summarize" and "Describe Thumbnail". You can add custom prompts in Settings.

Star prompts to show them on the transcript page prompt bar.

Prompts support variables: {transcript}, {title}, {thumbnail}, {url}, {video_id}.

Auto-AI

Configure automatic AI processing in Settings. Set an Auto-AI prompt and enable triggers:

• "After paste-and-go" — runs AI automatically after fetching.
• "Auto-copy AI response" — copies the AI answer to your clipboard.

Or use the Quick Transcribe + AI keyboard shortcut.

Prepend/Append Text

In Settings, you can set custom text that gets prepended or appended to every AI message. Useful for persistent instructions like "Always respond in bullet points" or "Keep responses under 100 words."
