Changing Shortcuts
Open Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. Click the recording field for the shortcut you want to change. Press your desired key combination. The app detects conflicts and warns you if a shortcut is already in use.
How Quick Transcribe Works
- Copy a YouTube URL to your clipboard.
- Press the shortcut from anywhere.
- Transcribe processes in the background.
- Menu bar icon shows a spinner during processing.
- Notification when complete, transcript on your clipboard.
Auto-Paste
Enable "Auto-paste after quick transcribe" in Settings to automatically paste the transcript into whatever app you're working in. This only applies to the Quick Transcribe shortcut (not Quick Transcribe + AI). Requires Accessibility permission — the app will guide you through granting it.
Open Results in Library
Enable "Open results in library" in Settings to automatically open transcription results in the library window after using the Quick Transcribe shortcut.
Recording Shortcuts
Only one shortcut can be recorded at a time. If you click a second recorder while one is active, the first one automatically stops. Shortcuts require at least one modifier key (⌘, ⌃, ⌥, or ⇧). Press Esc to cancel recording. Conflicting shortcuts are automatically resolved — the old shortcut is cleared with a warning.
